For the price of about 2 facials, you can have something that makes you feel like you have a facial every day.

I was a little hesitant to use it at first as my skin is super-sensitive, but I have never had a problem with it and it is safe to use twice a day.

It is the Clarisonic Skin Care System and it is an investment that is well worth the price tag.

The Mia Clarisonic System, their smallest, with one speed, is priced at $119.00. The Clarisonic Classic has two speeds and is priced at $195.00.   The Clarisonic Plus has three speeds and special brushes that can be used on other parts of your body. This is $225.00. (These prices were taken from the Clarisonic website.) This model comes with Deep Pore Cleansing and Spot Therapy brush heads.

My experience is with the Mia.  I chose this one because its the smaller of the two, thus making it easier to handle,  and I really didn’t want to use it anywhere but on my face.  The one speed seems to be just fine.  It comes with a charger, rotating brush and a sample of their cleanser.

My favorite way to use this is by taking my soap and mixing it with a little bit of a mild scrub, mixing it together and putting it on my face.  I let the brush do its work for about one minute.  I then rinse thoroughly.

You will not believe how clean your face will feel and how it creates a perfect canvas for putting on your makeup.

You are able to buy new brushes through Clarisonic also, and they recommend changing the brush every 3-4 months.

Also, according to Clarisonic:

While cleansing is the first step in any skin care ritual, it is often
overlooked and undervalued.  Clarisonic Mia gently yet effectively loosens dirt
and oil to clear your pores*.

  • Helps reduce oily areas, dry patches and blemishes
  • Leaves skin feeling softer and smoother
  • Remarkably gentle for cleansing all skin types, even with sensitive
conditions such as rosacea and acne**

  1. Pingback: I think my Clarisonic Mia is the cause of my acne breakout and dry skin. Should I stop using it?

    • Wendy: First of all, I’d like to say ‘thank you’! You are my very first reply. I will check out your blog. By the way, since I’m just being really careful with money now, I have to say that I really researched Clarisonic, finally plunked down the money and have never regretted it. Its just a really great device.

      • Aww! I’m so thrilled! I love your blog title btw! Yep, I totally love my Mia. Using it is fun, only takes a minute total, and I love that I KNOW it’s taking off ALL my makeup and really getting my skin ready for me to put “treatment” products on it.. so they’ll work! Just be careful using even a mild scrub with the Mia. You don’t want to overscrub your face. I’ve been loving it with a creamy cleanser as we transition into winter. (Idk about you.. I’m in the Boston area and the indoor heat is killing my face!) Anyways, keep up the awesome posts!!

  2. I use the Neutrogena Facial Spin Thingamajiggy 🙂 Not the new “Wave” , this one is an older model (big, white and heavy w/ battery) my husband bought for me a few Christmases ago. Anywaz… I really like it as well. It was somewhat cheap ($29.99) and the refills are about $5 each for 5 pads… but it only has one spin speed. The cool thing is, I can still buy the “new” pad refills for the wave and they work on my old Neutrogena spin thingy (it doesn’t have a name on the tool… just says Neutrogena hehe)…
Not sure how this compares to the clairisonic, i’ll have to try this one out after reading this 🙂

But.. I did buy Oil of Olay Microdermabrasial Facial Kit and I LOVE It!!! It’s somewhat pricey ($30) but it comes with 2 bottles. First (after you wash your face) you use their semi-abrasive scrub, then use their serum on over the scrub. The serum heats up on your skin, turns white and the abrasions slowly disappear after 1-2 minutes of scrubbing. You wash it off with warm water & you have your very own at-home personal microdermabrasion facial 🙂

    • Hey Stephanie! I had the microderm facial kit from Olay too! I agree, it’s a bit abrasive so I spaced out usage, but I thought the second step in the process was sooo fun to do!! I used to love those Biore self-heating facial masks. If you get the itch to try more microderm products, I’ve been using the Mary Kay microdermabrasion set and l-o-v-e it! (It’s 2 products – the scrub and the serum) I might have reviewed it on my blog, but I’m not sure. If you want a sample, let me know. I have a few left!!
